Orchids have specific food needs and, although it is true that they can survive on very low levels of food, they will only reach their best if properly fed.
Just ask a professional grower or a winner at orchid shows. Orchids should not be fed with normal plant ‘foods’ for many reasons.
Most of all, the nitrogen supply in the mass market product will usually contain high levels of ammonia and urea.
Urea can be toxic in orchid growing media and is best kept away from for that reason.

Mix fertiliser at 5ml (1 teaspoon) per 2 litres of tepid water - ideally soft water or rain water. For Cymbidium orchids, use 20ml per 2 litres. In all cases apply with every other watering.
Aditionally, orchids may benefit from misting and the humidity it creates. For best results gently mist foliage and roots with Orchid myst 2-3 times per week.
Use Orchid Focus Bloom while the plant is in flower.
Switch to Orchid Focus Grow as soon as flowers are finished.
Switch back to Orchid Focus Bloom when a new flower spike appears
